Kyle Jameson put pen to paper on a deal with Newport County in the summer of 2023, bringing some experience to the County backline.
A centre-back by trade, Jameson spent the early days of his youth career at local outfit Southport. He would then be picked up by Chelsea as a youth, signing with the club in January 2017. Six months later, he would move to the Midlands and join West Bromwich Albion where he would continue to show promise as a youngster.
His first professional start was given to him in 2018 during a loan spell at the then-National League side, Barrow. He would make 25 appearances for the club before his time there came to an end, and he left West Brom.
Jameson then returned to the National League, spending a year at Fylde in the 2019/20 season. After 19 appearances for the Lancashire outfit, he joined Oldham Athletic in what was his first foray into the Football League.
He made 36 appearances for the club, scoring twice. Jameson would then join near-neighbours Tranmere Rovers, where he played ten times in 22/23 season.
After leaving Tranmere, Jameson left the North and headed to South Wales, signing a two-year deal at Rodney Parade. He made his first-team debut for us away at Accrington Stanley on the first day of the 2023/24 season following a string of impressive performances in pre-season.
